40 by 40

40 by 40 
Here are 40 things I want to do before I turn 40. I have until 2023 (that year feels weird to write) 


Bold items are ones I am working on right now.

So here is my list in no particular order.


  1. Donate my hair to Locks of Love 
  2. Loose 20 pounds and keep if off  (woohoo!!) 
  3. Eat at the Melting Pot (Yum!)
  4. Sew something I can wear  (I made an apron!)
  5. Clean out my Gmail inbox to zero
  6. Visit a winery in Sonoma County
  7. Get a massage (Amazing!) 
  8. Make a pie from scratch
  9. Host a tea party at my apartment. 
  10. Host a game night
  11. Create a popcorn recipe
  12. Read through the entire Bible
  13. Publish a cookbook of my Grandma's recipes   I gave it to my mom for her birthday. It turned out great! 
  14. Make a quilt for my bed
  15. Make a Christmas quilt (I started cutting out the pieces a while ago and haven't picked it up in a while) 
  16. Complete my Goodreads challenge from my bookshelf
  17. Draw one sketch each day for 30 days in a row
  18. Walk in a 5k
  19. Take a cooking class
  20. Visit Yosemite 
  21. See the Northern Lights
  22. Go to Europe - just started saving up for a trip! 
  23. Publish a children's book
  24. Stick to my budget for two months in a row (I hope after 2 months it will be easy to stick with it for a long time)
  25. Go on a hot air balloon ride 
  26. Visit the Grand Canyon
  27. Have a picture taken of me that I really like
  28. Take a picture with someone famous 
  29. Go to the middle of nowhere at look at the stars
  30. Learn to play the piano or guitar so I can sing while I play
  31. Go snowmobiling  - and I loved it!
  32. Go to Disneyland at Christmastime 
  33. Visit a US state I've never been to 
  34. Make a crock-pot meal - I made really yummy chicken tacos! 
  35. Sell some of my craft projects
  36. Reupholster a piece of furniture
  37. Finish the BBC Robin Hood series
  38. Lead a ladies Bible study
  39. Go to a Cubs game
  40. Take an online drawing class
